Special events throughout the year bring students, families, faculty, and staff together for fellowship and learning which complements the curriculum.

Getting To Know You Picnic (September)

Come join the Luther family - meet the teachers, talk to the principal, meet other newcomers and experience the friendliness that is Luther.

Christmas Program

Join us at Bethlehem Lutheran Church for a special program of scripture, carols, and worship as the children of Luther Memorial present the annual Christmas program. After the service everyone is invited to share Christmas treats.

International Night / U.S.A. Night

Join us for a trip around the world as each Luther class (Preschool - 4th grade) studies and presents a different country. At the class presentations in the gym you may see a Chinese dragon dance, a play taken from Greek mythology, or hear a song based on a folk tale from Finland. After the program you are invited to visit the classrooms, sampling food from each country. For U.S.A. Night, each class gives a presentation about one of the 50 states, and then returns to the classroom to prepare for visitors who will be taking the "American tour" from room to room. These visitors may meet a Massachusetts Minuteman, a cowgirl from Wyoming, or a riverboat captain from Louisiana. Beginning in March 2004, U.S.A. Night will alternate yearly with International Night.

Grandparents' Day

Each year, grandparents and special friends are invited to spend a day with their Luther students. After a continental breakfast, we begin with a chapel service. After chapel, our grandparents and other guests visit the classrooms, tour the school, and take part in activities planned to celebrate their special place in our children's lives. The day ends with an early dismissal. Students whose grandparents are not able to attend are encouraged to invite a friend or other relative, or to honor a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church by asking them to be their "adopted grandparent" for the day.

Spring Musical

We look forward every year to the Spring Musical presented by dedicated students who practice for weeks to give the Luther community this much-anticipated evening. The musical is presented in conjunction with the Middle School Expo.

Field Day

The Luther community turns out to cheer on the competitors for Field Day in May. Teams are made up of students from each grade who compete in age-appropriate events against others from their class. At the end of an exciting morning, the scores are tallied. Everyone has fun, as teamwork and good sportsmanship are the order of the day.
